Contact: Andrew Kovaleski Phone: (614) 264-4296 It is our mission to bring jazz music year-round into the lives of those students in the Pickerington area who love jazz and want a real experience of being in a jazz ensemble. Members receive practice in improvisation, exposure to all kinds of jazz music, experience with gigging, and the community of being in a jazz band with (what will become) some of their closest friends. Started in 2011 by Mr. Michael Kelly and Mr. Justin Lumbard, the jazz band was founded when jazz band was to be cut from the curriculum of the schools. Now, as jazz band is back into the schools, the purpose of the jazz band is to provide a more realistic experience with a jazz ensemble to students. |
